About Alexander Beyer

Alexander Beyer, 29, has received warm praise for his performances nationally and internationally. In 2016, he received Third Prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and was named one of five finalists of the American Pianists Association Awards. He has been a guest soloist with major orchestras in the United States and Europe, including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Royal Orchestra of Wallonia, and the Irish National Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Milwaukee, Charlotte, Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury, and Bridgeport Symphony Orchestras, among others. Recent performances have brought him to Greece, Slovakia, Holland, Belgium, and across the United States. He received Sixth Prize at the 2015 US Chopin Competition, and Third Prize at the 2015 Dublin International Piano Competition. Beyer was a 2012 US Presidential Scholar in the Arts.

Beyer has performed in and directed many benefit concerts for local arts initiatives in his hometown of Fairfield, CT. He has lived in Norfolk, VA since 2021.

The Feldman Chamber Music Society

Entering its 75th year, the Feldman Chamber Music Society is Norfolk’s premier presenter of chamber music for the enjoyment, education, and enrichment of the Hampton Roads community.  Each year we bring the world’s finest string quartets and piano trios to Norfolk to perform a series of six concerts held on Monday nights from September to April at the Chrysler Museum of Art’s lovely Kaufman Theater.  WHRO’s Dwight Davis presents a pre-concert talk at 7pm with concerts starting at 7:30pm  Season tickets are $150 ($75 student/music professional) and $40 ($20 student/music professional) and will go on sale in August.  Please join us for a concert!
