2025 Feldman Annual Letter

Summer 2025

Dear Friends of the Feldman!

We are delighted to announce our 2025-2026 season with another great lineup of live music performed by some of the world’s finest musicians on the stage of the Kaufman Theater at the Chrysler Museum of Art! We’re also thrilled to welcome back our regional treasure, WHRO 90.3 FM’s Morning Classics announcer, musicologist Dwight Davis to give a 20-minute preview of each concert beginning at 7 pm. As always, doors will open at 6:45pm and the concert starts at 7:30 pm.

Our Regular Season. Our regular season will begin on Monday, September 15 with Isidore Quartet. Next, we’ll welcome back to the Feldman stage the Weiss-Kaplan-Stumpf Trio, on  October 20. On November 17, we’re excited to be hosting the famed Ying Quartet. After the holiday break, we’ll be welcoming a new group for us, Windsync, a Houston-based wind quintet on February 9, 2026.  On March 16, 2026 we’re bringing another well-established quartet, the Borromeo String Quartet, with our artist-in-residence, Alex Beyer joining the quartet to close out a great program.  And to finish our season, we’re super excited to bring the Borromeo String Quartet right back again on April 13, 2026 to perform with another group we’ve been delighted to have perform for us before, the Verona Quartet.  This very special concert to conclude our season will feature three octets by Shostakovich, Enescu, and of course, the Mendelssohn!

Our Summer Music Series.  We will once again host some casual one-hour free concerts throughout the summer, beginning with pianist Chris Kypros on Sunday June 15, and concluding with the New Commonwealth Quartet on Sunday September 7.  Start time will be 2pm at the Chrysler Museum of Art. Sign up for our email distro using the button above to learn about other summer concerts as information becomes available.

The Importance of Your Role. There are a couple of things you can do to help ensure this wonderful tradition of bringing the world’s best chamber music to Hampton Roads continues:

  1. Please help us spread the word by bringing a friend to a concert.
  2. Please consider making a donation with your ticket purchase. With ticket sales covering less than half the cost of the music, every gift – no matter how small – is deeply appreciated and will help assure the continuation of this regional treasure.
  3. Please join us for a concert!

We couldn’t enjoy this music without you, so thank you for supporting the Feldman. We look forward to seeing you at our first concert on Monday, September 15th at 7:30pm!

All the best,
Pete
