bringing the best in chamber music to Southeastern Virginia

Dear Friends of the Feldman:

It is with heavy hearts that we, as the Feldman Board, have elected to cancel our 2020-2021 season. This decision was made due to the ongoing unpredictability of the pandemic, particularly when it comes to the safety of large gatherings. Although perhaps not a tremendous surprise, this decision was not easy and is heartbreaking nevertheless. That said, the safety and comfort of you, our loyal supporters, and of our guest artists must come first, and so with that in mind we felt as if we had no choice but to forgo this season.

Our Artistic Committee, working with the Chamber Music Society of Williamsburg, had another wonderful season of six concerts lined up, so we are now working with the artists’ agents to reschedule for the same dates for the 2021-2022 season. We are also working with the Virginia Arts Festival to make up our joint partnership concert with the Brentano Quartet. The new date for this special concert is May 10, 2021. We will be contacting those of you who purchased tickets for Brentano at the special Feldman rate to issue your new ticket as that date solidifies next spring.

The Board is deeply committed to ensuring the Feldman remains in strong financial shape once we exit the pandemic and are able to resume normal operations. To that end, we would be very grateful for your considering any contribution to either our operating or endowment funds. As you may know, ticket prices cover only about 40% of our expenses, and so your continued investment in the Feldman is vital. Please click here should you wish to make a contribution.

The Board joins me in wishing you good health and in thanking you for supporting the Feldman. We can’t wait to get back to the joy of live music with you and our wonderfully talented artists, and rest assured, we are committed to making it happen as soon as we possibly can!

All the best,

Frank Mangum
